Time Tracking

My Role: Lead UX Designer/ Front-End Developer / Product Researcher

Problem Statement : Fidelity had a time management tool that was very cumbersome to use.  It took upwards of 20 minutes a day to do time entry, and proved very difficult to create new teams, projects, and administrative permissions.

Solution : I paired with 1 full-stack developer to create a time tracking solution that not only resolved the above solutions, but also integrated seamlessly with the existing time management tool.  This allowed us to implement across multiple teams quickly, but also saved users approximately 75% of their time entering time management.

New Solution

We broke out our time sheets in Project Teams, Task, and by Week.  To gain efficiency, we calculated all of the task daily amounts in our total on the page so users could enter multiple tasks on multiple teams without fear of over or under entering hours worked.

Administrators were allowed to create new projects for billing time.  Tasks and projects used auto-complete forms to reduce risk of duplication of task with spelling errors or variants.

Projects were then grouped together in a large dashboard to give holistic values of services rendered across multiple employees.  It also measures budget, time spent and remaining hours for project reporting.
